As I'm chatting in the #squeak channel this morning, I was reminded that I had adapted Kent Beck's Smalltalk Best Practice Patterns for a half-day Perl coding tutorial. In fact, I referenced this book in a Perl Column I had done for Linux Magazine. If you know both Smalltalk and Perl, you might get a kick out of that.
When I'm online and not otherwise "hunkered down" on an assignment, I'm monitoring the #squeak IRC channel on irc.freenode.net, usually with a handle of "Randal".
There's some other smart Squeak people hanging out there as well. In fact, I'm told it's the most active Smalltalk channel on Freenode, as evidenced by other non-Squeak users trying to sneak in to ask general Smalltalk questions.
