Since I spent 20 minutes just now trying to remember how I did this six months ago, the magic incantation to have Seaside respond at / instead of /seaside/ is:
Umm, when I do this, my libraries aren't included properly anymore after publishing on seasidehosting. REally strange. Apparantly, I have to set some other stuff, too. very annoying. I set it back to "seaside", and the libraries get included properly. annoying, very annoying.
